Asia-Pacific air passenger traffic up

BEIJING (Xinhua) – Airlines in the Asia-Pacific region has seen their passenger traffic rise by 8 percent in May. The region’s air traffic capacity increased by 7.6 percent in the international routes sector, according to the International Air Transport Association (IATA).The global passenger traffic has seen revenue passenger kilometers (RPKs) up 6.1 percent year-on-year in May.Domestic air passenger traffic registered a 6.6 percent year-on-year increase globally, with China and India leading the way, said IATA.
