PHNOM PENH, September 3, (Khmer Times) – The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) is organizing a workshop series for Cambodian students to enhance their knowledge and strengthen their capacity for the upcoming ASEAN Economic Community 2015.

The workshop series titled ‘Critical Leadership Skills’ will be held on September 18 at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia’s lecture hall.

Mr. John G. Rice, vice-chairman of General Electric, an American multinational corporation based in Connecticut, will be the guest speaker at the workshop.

The workshop series has gained a great amount of support from the participants. Spokesman of the MOC, Ken Ratha, said that the registration capacity via the MOC Facebook page is now full, and he’s looking to expand the quota.

“The workshop series is different than the school curriculum. The topics concentrate on skills and practical experiences that the students can benefit from, our guest speakers are vice presidents of big multinational corporations,” said Mr. Ken Ratha.

Mr. Ken Ratha also added that students from various universities can register for the workshops through their institutions.

The new workshop series will start on October 1. It will discuss “The Role of Innovation in the Digital Economy.” Mike Nelson, vice president of Google Inc. will lecture at the event.
