Cambodia and Vietnam have pledged to enhance cooperation on national defence, while Vietnam promised to help boost human resource training in the kingdom.

Defence Minister General Tea Banh held talks with his Vietnamese counterpart about cooperation on various issues yesterday.

After the meeting, Major General Ngi Vann Dim said both sides pledged to continue installing border posts.

He added that Vietnam promised to continue training Cambodian military officers and to help repair machinery and light weapons. “Vietnam can provide experts,” Maj Gen Vann Dim said, adding that Vietnam has factories to produce machinery and light weapons.

According to Maj Gen Vann Dim, Cambodia has sent 300 military officers to Vietnam every year for training.
