A team of experts from the United Nations will tomorrow inspect the sites at three different provinces where chemical bombs were believed to have been dropped by the US in the 1970s during the Vietnam War.

National Defense Minister Tea Banh said: “Tomorrow, the expert team from the UN will begin to work and directly inspect the sites throughout Mondulkiri, Tbong Khmum and Svay Rieng provinces.”

Recently Cambodia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry filed a request to the UN body to send experts to investigate and evaluate the impact of chemical weapons in Cambodia.

The Cambodian Mines Action Center claims to have discovered more than 50 locations of US bombs dropped and in Svay Rieng province alone and 22 of the sites found include chemical bombs.
