A Cambodian company has won three major prizes at a prestigious property awards event in Singapore.

Borey Peng Huoth, one of the most prominent developers in the kingdom which was representing the country for the second time at the 2017 Property Guru Asia Property Awards in Singapore, won three awards as the best housing developer in Cambodia.

Property Guru hosted the 2017 event which featured delegates and representatives from more than 100 countries.

Each award was reviewed and evaluated by experts and the Foreign Expert Committee, comprising eight professional commissions from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, Philippines, Cambodia and Myanmar, plus Property Guru’s expert committee.

Borey Peng Huoth walked away with the Best Developer Award (Cambodia), Best Housing Development Award (Cambodia) and Best Landscape Architectural Design (Cambodia).

“The accolade is an indication that Cambodia is also able to compete with countries in the region and is providing more confidence to consumers on the best home improvement options that are well recognised at home and abroad,” a company statement said.

Hari V. Krishnan, the CEO of Property Guru Group, said their outstanding projects were inspiring and shaping the future of the Cambodian real estate sector, which has been given many opportunities to grow over the last couple of years.

“Because of the awards, consumers are empowered to make confident property decisions, whether they are first-time buyers, expat renters or serial investors,” he said. “Property knowledge is essential in our culture at Property Guru.”

Terry Blackburn, the founder and managing director of the Property Guru Asia Property Awards, said Cambodia’s real estate sector was undoubtedly one of the most exciting emerging markets in Southeast Asia right now.

“As Asean becomes increasingly integrated on trade, developers and investors are increasingly seeking opportunities in new countries and Cambodia is high on many people’s list, many thanks to the efforts and quality developments of Cambodian developers who were recognised here at the awards,” Mr Blackburn said.
