PHNOM PENH, August 18, (Khmer Times) – For the students who failed their exams the first time (due to cheating or other reasons), a second national high school exam will take place on October 13.

Prime Minister Hun Sen spoke today at the National Strategy for Food Security and Nutrition workshop and announced that about 70 percent of the students failed the exams this year. Last year 80 percent passed.

He mentioned that the high failure rate is due to the Ministry of Education’s strict measures to inhibit irregularities such as cheat sheets, substitute exam-takers, and whatever else the students came up with.
