The Minister of Foreign Affairs has confirmed Cambodia’s strong commitment to national inoculation against COVID-19 and a tourism rehabilitation plan.

Minister Prak Sokhonn spoke at the 17th Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) Ministerial Meeting via video conference on Thursday.

According to a Ministry of Foreign Affairs press release, in this meeting, Sokhonn shared Cambodia’s strong commitment to launch an effective national COVID-19 vaccination plan. This was in addition to a comprehensive tourism rehabilitation plan to ensure the sector’s safe and rapid restoration, which is important for national growth.

Prime Minister Hun Sen yesterday has said he expects around 500,000 people to be inoculated with a COVID-19 vaccine before Khmer New Year, which will be held in April.

He said 300,000 doses of China’s Sinopharm vaccine will arrive in Cambodia in February and has asked the Ministry of Health to conduct a survey to find out how many people are willing to take the vaccine.
