More than 12,000 migrant workers have streamed across the Thai border into Cambodia in the past two weeks amid COVID-19 pandemic, according to a health official.
Or Vandine, spokeswoman of the Health Ministry, said that 12,088 Cambodian returned to Cambodia from Thailand from December 20 to January 7 as COVID-19 cases surged in Thailand.
She said the Ministry of Health and sub-national authorities, especially authorities in provinces along the Cambodian-Thai border worked hard to prevent the imported cases of COVID-19 virus into the country.
The ministry announced today four migrant workers were diagnosed with the virus, bringing total cases of cluster to 26.
To date, Cambodia has recorded 391 COVID-19 cases, with 371 recoveries.
