To celebrate Asean’s 50th anniversary, 20 Cambodian delegates will join the Asean Women’s Business Conference from today until Friday in Manila, the Philippines. The main objective of the conference is to prioritise the following issues: 1. Incubate and sustain women-led innovation and tech powered enterprises and industries; 2. Devise and execute a broad study of women and technology and identify key barriers and root causes of attrition; 3. Create a network for women in technology and those who invest in technological enterprises.
The 20 Cambodian delegates will also witness the formal acknowledgement of the Asean Women Entrepreneurs Network, who will officially join the Joint Business Councils meeting of Asean-BAC and work closely with the economic group in “Strengthening Women Entrepreneurship in the Asean Region”.
The 10 Outstanding Women Entrepreneurs in each Asean country will be recognised for their outstanding efforts of successfully running their businesses with social impacts on societies and communities and support the empowerment of women for equality and economic development.
The 10 Outstanding Cambodia Women Entrepreneurs for 2017 are Chang Sokkim of Bayon Bakery, Chhay Sivlin of CSL Group, Soth Chantha of Daily Transport, Chea Sokleang, the ECO of Great Mekong Solutions, Tang Gechlieng of H&L Group, Nut Samphois of LSV Industry, Dr Eng Lykoung of the Medical Center Dental Clinic, Ing Sovanly of Neary Khmer Association for Health and Vocational Training, Kuong Sorita of Ocean Technology and Lay Kanika of the Smile Dental Clinic.
