The National Assembly has asked all lawmakers and officials who came in direct and indirect contact with the November 28 community incident to have a second round of testing for COVID-19 tomorrow.

The notice signed today by NA’s secretary-general Leng Peng Long said all parliamentarians and officials, who had their specimens tested on December 2, have to get their samples taken tomorrow at the National Assembly building.

Peng Long said over 100 lawmakers and officials, including NA president Heng Samrin had tested negative for COVID-19 last week after coming in contact with lawmaker Loy Sophat who was found to have come in contact with Lieutenant General Chhem Savuth, director-general of the Interior Ministry’s General Department of prisons.

Lt Gen Savuth tested positive for COVID-19.

They remain under 14-day quarantine while major meetings, including the permanent committee meeting and the plenary session, will not be held as normal.

The Health Ministry today reported two more cases of COVID-19 linked to the Nov 28 community incident, bringing the tally of infections to 32.
