On December 2, 2020, Cambodia Airways once again accepted the government’s assignment to arrange two special flights to transport 1.05 million masks as well as other medical equipment aided by Prime Minister Hun Sen, to the East Timor government in order to help the East Timor government to fight against the pandemic.
HE Ouch Borith — Minister Attaché to the Prime Minister and Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Affairs — led the 12-member Cambodian delegation to East Timor.
This is the second time in less than a week that Cambodia Airways has received the similar emergency request for such transportation. This time was to arrange the two special flights to transport the anti-epidemic medical materials to East Timor after successfully completing the important task of the state-level’s material transportation to Myanmar last week.
After a swift planning and proper preparation, the two Cambodia Airways special flights took off from Phnom Penh International Airport in the early morning of December 2. After a flight of about 5 hours, all the transported medical materials were delivered smoothly at around 9:45, East Timor time on December 2. Arrived at the President Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili, East Timor. The representative of the East Timor government warmly welcomed the delegation of the Cambodian government and held a donation ceremony on the spot.
With the return of the high-level delegation to Phnom Penh International Airport, Cambodia Airways once again successfully completed the task as assigned by the Cambodian government of transporting medical equipment to combat Covid-19.
Cambodia Airways has been glad to take up the missions and to ensure the task to be successfully completed.
And Cambodia Airways has done this on many previous occasions, providing special flights for state-level officials as requested by the Cambodian government.
The countries being visited include Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Thailand. The operations have been highly praised by the government.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, Cambodia Airways has been appointed twice in a row, shouldering up heavy responsibilities and achieving the important mission. We completed the transportation of these shipments in a very short preparation time and successfully delivered more than 3.3 million masks, medical equipment as well as other epidemic prevention materials to Myanmar and East Timor.
