Prime Minister Hun Sen said gatherings of more than 20 people and wedding parties are banned in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap province for 15 days to contain the COVID-19 transmission in the community.

In his voice message released this afternoon, Mr Hun Sen said the decision was made based on advice from the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.

“All big gatherings, including wedding parties must be postponed for 15 days as from today,” he said. “Please everyone understands in this current situation.”

He said for any gatherings of fewer than 20 people, they must practice social distancing and that they should reduce going out in public for 15 days.
