PM sets up panel to address homeless people issue

The government has decided to set up a national committee to address the homeless people issue.

According to a letter signed by Prime Minister Hun Sen on November 17 which Khmer Times obtained Saturday, Mr Hun Sen assigned Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation Minister Vong Soth to head the new committee.

He also appointed five secretaries of state and nine undersecretaries of state from relevant ministries, one secretary-general of the Cambodian Red Cross, and capital/provincial governors throughout the country as committee members.

Mr Hun Sen said the Minister in charge of the Council of Ministers, Economy and Finance Minister, Social Affairs Minister, all other ministers, and heads of relevant institutions must carry out his decision with immediate effect.
