Outgoing Singaporean ambassador bids farewell to Cambodian NA president

The President of the National Assembly had a farewell meeting with the outgoing Ambassador of the Republic of Singapore to Cambodia, Michael Tan Keng Siong at the NA office Tuesday.

The NA President, Heng Samrin, spoke highly of the achievements of the ambassador especially in fostering the relationship and cooperation between the two countries during his diplomatic mission in Cambodia.

He also acknowledged the enhanced bilateral collaboration in economy, trade, investment, tourism, education and vocational training, contributing essentially to the development of Cambodia.

He also thanked Singapore as well as the ambassador for providing and facilitating short-term training to nearly 10,000 Cambodian officials over the past years under the Initiative for ASEAN Integration (IAI).

Ambassador Tan thanked the NA president for his appreciation and was pleased to see the bilateral friendship tie between Cambodia and Singapore blossoming.

The National Assemblies of Cambodia and Singapore have encouraged exchanges of visits at all levels and supported each other in the international arena through parliamentary forums such as AIPA and APPF, the ambassador added. Phal Sophantih – AKP
