Cambodia is set to experience heavy rainfall this week as it will be impacted by tropical storm Molave, according to the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology.
The ministry said that nine provinces will experience rainfall from October 28 to 29 as Molave has crossed the Philippines and it will reach South China Sea and it will arrive in Vietnam and Laos.
Those provinces include Ratanakiri, Stung Treng. Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey, Kampong Thom, Siem Reap, Pailin, Banteay Meanchey and Battambang.
“Please all people and authorities be aware of an incident,” it said.
The National Committee for Disaster Management on Saturday said in a statement flooding from September 1 to October 24 has hit 20 provinces and Phnom Penh.
Flooding has affected 136,442 families (545,768 people) with 40 people killed, the statement said, adding that 11,838 people were evacuated and 270,000 hectares of rice and 88,779 hectares of various crops were inundated.
