UNICEF and China to support pre-school safety

The People’s Republic of China and UNICEF are supporting 70,000 children to return pre-schools safely during Covid-19 pandemic, according to a news release from UNICEF.


Ms. Kim Sethany, Secretary of State, Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, Ms. Wu Guoquan, Economic and Commercial Counselor of the Chinese Embassy and Ms. Foroogh Foyozat, UNICEF Representative in Cambodia will jointly observe how hygiene supplies and education materials, funded by China’s Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM), are being used to assist Cambodia’s community pre-schools tomorrow morning at the District Office of Education, Prek Phnov district, Phnom Penh.

The MOFCOM has funded the provision of these supplies to 3,064 pre-schools across Cambodia, allowing an estimated 70,000 children to return to school safely, with better protection from COVID-19. Heng Panha – AKP
