According to a Ministry of Tourism report released today, over 450,000 people were reported to have visited tourist destinations across Cambodia yesterday, in a massive boost for the Kingdom’s hard-hit sector.

The report said the second day of Pchum Ben attracted some 454,854 tourists – of which 3,225 were foreigners – to destinations nationwide.

The report said that the five provinces which received the most visitors were Battambang, with 74,420 visitors, Siem Reap with 50,924 visitors, Kampong Chhnang with 30,108 visitors, Preah Sihanouk with 29,173 visitors and Pursat with 26,312 visitors.

The report also said that across the two days of Pchum Ben, 672,786 people visited the cities and provinces.

“Most domestic tourists met up with family after returning from the pagodas and organised trips to tourist destinations not far from their hometowns,” the report said.

Meanwhile, capital and provincial authorities have said they will continue to ensure that people are adhering to COVID-19 transmission prevention guidelines at all tourist destinations and pagodas.
