The Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) has given the green light to five new investment projects with a total investment capital of $58 million.

According to the council’s press release issued this morning, the newly approved projects are expected to create about 800 jobs for the locals.

The five projects cover the production of ice-cream, carton boxes, all kinds of water pipes, eye glasses and their cases, and the generation of solar power

The projects belong to Tokyo Happy Ice Cream Co., Ltd., Rong Xing Paper Industrial Co., Ltd., K&K Pipe (Cambodia) Co., Ltd., Cam-Icare Co., Ltd., and Ray Power Supply Co., Ltd., in Phnom Penh capital city, and Kampong Speu, Preah Sihanouk and Banteay Meanchey provinces.

Such investments amid the COVID-19 outbreak demonstrate confidence of foreign investors in Cambodia’s macroeconomic, political and social stability though threatened by the pandemic. Phal Sophanith – AKP
