Cambodia’s $25 million national assembly expansion project to commence soon

Cambodia $25 million national assembly administration building extension will be “coming soon”, thanks to financial  assistance from Vietnam,  said National Assembly President Heng Samrin.

 

Heng Samrin’s statement came after a meeting with Vietnamese National Assembly president Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan at the National Assembly of Vietnam held yesterday.

 

“I once again thank Vietnam for providing $25 million for the construction of the National Assembly’s administration building,” the National Assembly’s statement read.

 

“The National Assembly of Cambodia will use the construction budget with the utmost transparency and that this precious construction aid will appear soon,” it added.

 

The statement also quoted Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan as saying at the meeting that so far, the Vietnamese side is ready to complete the budget to provide assistance for the construction of the administrative building for the National Assembly of Cambodia,

 

The committee is waiting for the Cambodian side to confirm the fulfillment of the terms of the agreement.

 

Vietnam also praised the efforts of the two governments in planting border posts over the past and complete the remaining 16 percent in order to bring peace and development for the border.

 

“Both sides are committed to strengthening solidarity, cooperation and mutual support in the international arena, both bilaterally and multilaterally,” Vietnam added.
