Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally increases again with another imported case, bringing total to 273

Cambodia’s COVID-19 tally continued to climb with yet another case of a Cambodian female, 51, who returned from the United States via Korea on July 31.


With this new patient being tested positive for COVID-19 on her second test, the tally now stands at 273. She is currently receiving treatment at the Chak Angre Health centre.

The 273, includes 174 Cambodians, 40 French, 17 Chinese, 13 Malaysians, 8 Indonesians, 7 Americans, 5 British, 3 Vietnamese, 3 Canadians, 1 Belgian, 1 Indian, and 1 Kazakhstani.

On the bright side, two patients who were receiving treatment have now been discharged. According to the Ministry of Health, the two cured patients are Cambodian men aged 22 and 26 years. They were tested positive after returning home from Saudi Arabia via Malaysia.

They have been allowed to be discharged from Chak Angre Health Centre, Phnom Penh after being tested negative twice consecutively.

The number of recovered cases thus rose to 225 or 82.42 percent of the total cases.
