Cambodia-U.S. trade Up 18 percent in first five months


Bilateral trade between Cambodia and the U.S. was recorded at $2,488.3 billion in the first five months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 18 percent.

Statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau, from January to May, the Kingdom exported $2,363 million worth of products to the world’s largest economy, up 25.9 percent compared to the same period last year.

Cambodia imported goods from the U.S. worth in total $125.3 million, down 42.4 percent year-on-year.

In May alone, the two-way trade was valued at $355.9 million, a decrease by 19 percent compared to May last year. Of the figure, $338.8 million were Cambodian exports.

Cambodia mainly exported textiles, footwear, travel goods, and agricultural products to the U.S. and imported vehicles, animal feed, and machinery.

Last year, the bilateral trade between the two countries reached $5.8 billion, a year-on-year increase of 37 percent. Chea Vannak – AKP
