NagaWorld Kind Hearts, the corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of NagaWorld, has pledged to support the Ministry of Health (MoH) in their fight against COVID-19 through a series of donations. In their first donation to the MoH, NagaWorld Kind Hearts donated 500 bottles of hand sanitiser for them to distribute, as well as 5 laptops to help with their increased diagnostic workload and field research.
In addition, NagaWorld’s Managing Director Mr. Pern Chen has advised that they are awaiting the arrival of a Nucleic Acid Extraction System, 6,400 Viral DNA Extraction Test Kits, and 1,000 Sample Collection Kits. These test kits and extraction system will play a crucial role in helping the MoH combat COVID-19.
Mr. Pern Chen expressed that the donation of these supplies, valued at approximately USD$52,000, is part of the company’s ongoing support of the Royal Government of Cambodia’s fight against COVID-19. NagaWorld Kind Hearts has previously donated supplies to other government institutions, including the Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, the General Commissariat of National Police, the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, and Phnom Penh City Hall. These donations total 40,000 face masks, 4,000 bottles of hand sanitiser, and 720 litres of isopropyl alcohol.
Mr. Pern Chen stated, “We hope our donations of medical supplies and equipment to the Ministry of Health will help with their important battle against COVID-19 and protecting the people of this nation.”
Her Excellency Dr. Youk Sambath, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, received the donation in person from Mr. Pern Chen. “We highly commend NagaWorld’s initiative as a socially responsible corporate citizen in supporting efforts to help our Kingdom combat the spread of COVID-19,” she said. “We appreciate the generous donation of laptops, which our officials can use for compiling diagnostics reports and research in the field. Their selfless gift of hand sanitiser will also go a long way to helping protect the health and safety of our individuals and communities during these extremely difficult times.”
