Mr Eldeen Husaini Mohd Hashim, Ambassador of Malaysia to Cambodia hosted a luncheon in honour of the Malaysian Technical Cooperation Programme Alumni members at Topaz Restaurant today.
The luncheon was graced by Ly Thuch, Senior Minister in charge of special mission together with MTCP Alumni members following measures to avoid large gatherings.
The activity seeks to ensure continuous engagements and foster a long lasting strong personal bond of friendship with the attendees of the previous editions of MTCP programmes in Malaysia
It also aimed to strengthen networking and establish closer relations between the Embassy officials and former Cambodian MTCP participants.
MTCP emphasises sharing of development experiences and expertise to developing countries through technical cooperation programmes by providing trainings in various areas such as agriculture, economy, finance and trade, education, environment, industrial technical training, diplomacy, public management and administration, professional services, social development and ICT
Cambodia became an MTCP recipient country in 1991 having more than 1,600 officials from Cambodia have participated in MTCP courses. The programme remains important towards building a mutually beneficial bilateral relations.
Meanhile. the Ambassador amplified to the Senior Minister the scholarship offered by Albukhary International University (AIU) to less fortunate Cambodian students and can take degree programmes at the AIU for year 2020-2021.
Both the Ambassador and Senior Minister agreed to continue to work closely, particularly in human resources development, humanitarian activities as well as bilateral trade and investments.
The second luncheon will accommodate the next batch of MTCP Alumni members to be held on Thursday, 25 June 2020 at the same venue.
