Prime Minister Hun Sen, President of the ruling Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, said there are a lot of human resources in his party, as well as many candidates as his successor.
While paying an inspection visit to the construction site of new international airport in Kandal and Takeo provinces this morning, Mr Hun Sen reiterated that he will be in the position for at least 10 years more, but reaffirmed the potential of human resources in CPP.
According to the Premier, there are some rumours about his preparation to transfer the power to his eldest son, Gen. Hun Manet, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces and Commander of Royal Cambodian Army.
“[…], it is not yet the time for Hun Manet, but as father, it is not wrong to train his son to be [as competent as him],” he stressed.
He continued that the candidate for his successor depends on the internal election in the party and the national election.
Samdech Hun Sen has held the post of Prime Minister since 1985. During his position and leadership, Cambodia has gained enormous achievements, especially the current sustainable development and the ending of the civil wars which began in the 1970s until late 1998. Heng Panha/AKP
