The China Railway Urban Construction Group (CRUCG), the new contractor for The Peak, is boosting its efforts to expedite the construction of the mixed development project, which promises to be one of Phnom Penh’s top landmarks in the coming years.

In a press release, Oxley Gem noted that CRUCG is sparing no effort to complete the project amid a labour crunch and supply delay in the market.

The coronavirus pandemic, which has slowed down a large part of the construction sector, has not stopped the CRUCG from its mission as it soldiers on to finish the project without any delays.

It was noted that much progress has been made since CRUCG took over the project two months ago.

“We sincerely thank Oxley Gem for entrusting CRUCG with the opportunity to take over this iconic project. Their relentless support and guidance have been highly instrumental in letting us achieve this remarkable progress since we started work in March 2020,” said Jia Ruo Hua, general manager of the CRUCG branch in Cambodia.

In addition, CRUCG is also ensuring safety measures are put in place in light of the health crisis sweeping through Cambodia and other parts of the world.

For his part, Oknha Sear Rithy, Chairman of WorldBridge Land, lauded CRUCG for following through with their commitments and not being deterred by the health crisis and other obstacles.

“It is easy to make promises during good times but difficult to deliver results, especially during this current challenging climate. With a strong and experienced developer like our partner, Oxley Holdings Limited, we were able to rapidly turn the situation around to work towards the successful completion of this project,” he said.

The Peak was borne out of a partnership between WorldBridge Land of Cambodia and Singapore’s Oxley Holdings Ltd.

The 55-storey development, which is located on a prime lot in the capital’s Chamkar Mon district, comprises an office tower and two residential towers with 1,014 apartment units. Cambodia’s first Shangri-La Hotel is also part of the project.

The apartments at The Peak are luxuriously built, giving its residents access to prime amenities such as a BBQ pavilion, functions rooms, a jacuzzi, swimming pool and fitness centre.
