The Royal Government of Cambodia has no plans to evacuate Cambodian students studying abroad in several countries like China, United States, Europe and Asia.

“The students will not be evacuated from China, Korea, ASEAN countries and other infected countries, including the United States and Europe,” Prime Minister Hun Sen said Wednesday.

He urged Cambodian students to remain where they are after he learns that 12 Cambodian students studying in the United States wanted to return home.

“I appeal to Cambodian students in the US to stay put and not to abandon the American people,” he said.

He has called on the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs not to intervene in repatriating those students to Cambodia but ordered the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to arrange accommodations for them at the Cambodian Embassy in the United States so they can continue their study online.
