Work on The Peak has resumed with a new company taking over the construction of the multi-million dollar property development in the heart of Phnom Penh.

Oxley Gem (Cambodia) Co Ltd, the project developer, has secured the services of China Railway Urban Construction Group Co Ltd (CRUCG) to complete the project, the construction of which was temporarily halted over a legal dispute.

CRUGG has officially taken the Site and Construction work starting from 11th of March, 2020.

Jia Ruo Hua, General Manager of Branch of CRUGG Cambodia, said they have a dedicated team of highly-skilled engineers, foremen, constructions workers and other staff to ensure that construction will proceed smoothly and will be completed on time.

“They will ensure that it will be built and completed in accordance with international standards,” he pointed out.

It was noted that CRUCG has a good reputation among its peers in the international construction industry.

CRUCG is part of China Railway Construction Corporation (CRCC), one of the biggest construction companies in the world. In fact, in 2014, the Shanghai and Hong Kong-listed firm was ranked as the world’s second largest construction company revenue-wise.

According to the company website, CRCC’s business covers project contracting, survey design consultation, industrial manufacturing, real estate development, logistics, trade of goods and capital operations. In addition to Asia, the company also has projects in Central America, Europe and Africa.

Shortly after taking over the site, CRUGC installed an exterior wall protector to speed up construction without compromising safety and quality.

The Peak, which sits on a prime lot along Samdech Hun Sen Road, Tonle Bassac Commune, Chamkarmorn District, stands out among the numerous property developments in that part of Phnom Penh.

It is also notable for being located close to many banks/ATMs, hotels, schools, restaurants, sports clubs, markets, entertainment joints, tourist spots and retail shops. The Australian Embassy, National Assembly building, NagaWorld and Aeon Mall 1, one of the premier shopping destinations in the Kingdom, are also a short distance away.

Based on the original plan, the project will comprise of two towers with 1,014 units. In addition to the residential units and offices, the 55-storey building will also feature a commercial area where restaurants and shops will be easily accessible to its occupants.

Oxley Gem said it believes The Peak will be another landmark for Cambodia. The Peak is slated for completion before the end of this year.
