Preah Sihanoukville. The blood test results of 20 ill cruise passengers onboard the MS Westerdam is expected Friday morning as passengers who want to leave the vessel are barred from leaving for shore.
Health officials told Khmer Times that Prime Minister Hun Sen is also expected to arrive at Sihanoukville Friday morning to receive the passengers who have chosen to leave the vessel and see them off as they board busses to head to Sihanoukville airport for flights to Phnom Penh and onward to their respective home countries.
It is understood that about 600 of the 1455 passengers have purchased tickets to their respective native countries while another 600 odd passengers have reportedly stated that they wished to remain on board the vessel.
There are at least 41 nationalities on board, comprising 651 Americans, followed by Canadians, 271 and 127 British nationals.
Several Khmer-Canadian citizens are also onboard the vessel which was denied docking at 6 countries before docking at Sihanoukville port Thursday morning.
