Over $2.8 billion collected in tax revenue in 2019

Cambodia has collected more than U$2.819 billion as tax revenue for the whole of 2019, up 23.20 percent of the annual plan, according to figures from the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

From January to December 2019, the General Department of Taxation at the Ministry of Economy and Finance earned an income surplus of some US$530.92 million.

The growth of tax revenue is derived from the increase of tax on income by 28.87 percent, value-added tax by 31.05 percent, special tax by 30.72 percent, tax on salary by 18.21 percent, property tax by 68.20 percent.

In December alone, approximately US$195 million was collected as tax income, an increase by 36.85 percent from December 2018.
