Cambodia’s Women’s national football team marked their debut on Saturday with a 12-0 rout of Timor Leste in their AFF Women’s Championship group A opener in Palembang, Indonesia.

Captain Huot Kimhong scored a double-hat-trick as the team took an unassailable seven goal lead into half-time. They did not let up in the second half as they plundered a further five to hand themselves a handsome victory.

The AFF Women’s Championship 2018 sees Cambodia drawn in Group A alongside Thailand, Australia, Malaysia, and Timor-Leste. Group B consists of Vietnam, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, and Indonesia. Cambodia are due to play Malaysia in their second group fixture tonight.
