The death toll in the collapse of the 7 seven story under construction building in Kep has risen to seven as of 4am today.
Rescuers pulled out three more bodies during the search and rescue efforts, currently being supervised by Prime Minister Hun Sen and aided by several heavy duty excavators to clear the debris as the search continued to look for more victims possibly trapped the wreck.
Kep Police Chief Pen Dara said that another 18 victims have been sent to hospital, also pulled from the debris and are undergoing treatment. Several were said to be in critical condition.
Up to 40 construction workers were living in the building, a practice banned since the deadly collapse of the Sihanoukville building last year.
At dawn, the search continues unabated.
