Are you trying to find another communication platform aside from Facebook that provides more local content? If you do, then this article is for you.

Zourbong is a new social media platform made especially for Cambodians. The name of the platform is quite interesting as it can be translated into Khmer as “Ask Me”.

Touting itself as “a place to share knowledge”, the name aptly reminds you that if you have any questions or random thoughts, you can “Zourbong” or “Ask Me”.

This platform has a forum-based layout where you can add your content such as questions, opinion, news and photos for other users to see and comment on.

Why Zourbong is highly recommended? Check out the review below:

Free login

Zourbong is a mobile application which you can find on Apple App Store and Google Play Store. If you want to check out what it’s like without downloading the application, you can first check out its official website

What’s good about it is that Zourbong doesn’t require you to create an account in order to browse the app. You can read the content in the app and on the website without having to sign up. However, you will need to do so if you want to drop a comment or create a content.

Many hot topics

Once you are on the application, you can immediately view the most-discussed topic at just a glance. The previous and latest articles will appear on the tab “Thmey Thmey” if they received the most comments and votes.

The feature makes it easy for you to track trending topics when opening up the application. On the home page, you can also read and view new articles under the tabs “Popular”, “Top Vote” or “’Top Comment”.

Promote national language

In order to make it easy for all Cambodians to interact with one another, Zourbong has ensured that the application is only available in Khmer. However, it uses simplified Khmer therefore it would also be a good place for foreigners to practice reading and writing in Khmer.

The only downside is you can’t enjoy the application if you own a phone that doesn’t support Khmer language.

Varieties of category

It seems like the app developers understand a lot about Cambodians. They have created 12 categories from real estate to food, health, sports, traveling, education, business and career, technology and electronic devices, beauty, relationship and family, entertainment and other.

If you think these categories are not what you are looking for, you can still look further in the “search” button on the top part of the app. You can search by “category” or “tag” as some content creators would attach word tags onto their post to increase visibility.

Since the app is new and still under construction, users are not allowed to use “message” and “notification” features for now. Regardless, you can still create and browse your favorite content for free without any restriction.
