The President of the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, Hun Many has called on youths to further distribute their roles and responsibilities in society’s development while the country is enjoying peace.

UYFC today commemorated the 41th anniversary of the founding of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland on December 2, 1978.

In his remark during the assembling at Phnom Penh’s Olympic Stadium, UYFC president Hun Many said the celebration aims to reflect on the sacrifices made by Cambodian fighters to free the nation from the Khmer Rouge.

He noted that the future of the nation and happiness of the people are of utmost importance, which cannot in any event or instance be affected.

“Certainly now, as Cambodia enjoys peace and stability, it is also a time for young Cambodians to think more about their roles, responsibilities and contributions to society and the people,” Mr Many said.

“We need to constantly remind ourselves that the future society will be able to adapt to both the aspects, opportunities and challenges that require us to not only be prepared to cope with but also to use our full potential and conscience to turn those challenges into new opportunities for the better of the nation,” he added.
