Twelve migrant workers and three children were injured in a traffic accident in Thailand’s Sa Kaeo province on Sunday night.

Prak Pheaktra, a Cambodian translator for Thai authorities, yesterday said that a pickup truck carrying 15 Cambodians, including three children, crashed into another truck travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Pheaktra noted that the truck was carrying the 12 migrant workers to work at a longan farm.

“The accident occurred at 9.45pm on Sunday in Sa Kaeo province when the pickup truck crashed into another truck travelling in the opposite direction,” Mr Pheaktra said, noting the 12 workers, three children and one Thai national were injured.

He added that all were sent to hospital and none are in life-threatening condition.

Hun Saroeun, consul-general of the Cambodian consulate in the province, was quoted in a National Police report saying that the workers have not yet been identified.

“Our officials are working on this case,” he said.
