Cambodia will host another major gathering for the gaming industry early next year.
The third edition of the Asia Entertainment and Investment Expo, also known as AGE Cambodia 2020, will be held at Sokha Beach Resort in Sihanoukville on March 26 and 27, according to the official website for the event.
The gathering is meant to update the gaming, hotel, property, and franchise industries on the latest relevant technological advancements.
The event is expected to feature many of the leading players in the international gaming industry.
The previous edition drew representatives from companies like 1XBET, RTG Slots, Elite Gaming, MSK Gaming, Angel Singapore, Yuhua Poker Chips, N2-Live, Jin Bei Group, and OneKey Biz Solution.
Many of the same companies are expected to be present at next year’s expo. The presence of many industry VIPs is also a given.
Its organisers cited Cambodia’s growing importance as a gaming market as the main reasons for holding the event.
The expo is being organised by WorldEx Trade Media Sdn Bhd with support from the Ministry of Commerce.
Cambodia has one of the fastest-growing gaming industries in Southeast Asia.
JPMorgan Securities, a leading international financial institution, said early this year that Cambodia could soon replace Malaysia as the region’s third largest gaming market
The apparent success of the past edition led organisers to come up with another one less than a year later.
The 2nd Entertainment and Investment Expo, which was held in Sihanoukville on June 27 and 28 this year, drew more than 3,500 visitors from more than 15 countries, including China, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Taiwan, South Korea, the United Kingdom, the United States, Malaysia, Japan, Macau, Nigeria and Hong Kong.
Close to $80 million in sales was transacted during the two-day event.
The event gave many of its participants the chance to establish business contacts with their peers from Cambodia and other countries.
“AGE Cambodia 2019 presented a great opportunity for TVBET to establish new contacts throughout the whole Southeast Asian region. In addition to meeting new partners, we were able to draw a lot of knowledge and experience from showcasing our products to the interested audience at the expo,” Peter Korpusenko, CEO of live games provider TVBET, said in a testimonial published on the event’s website.
Cambodia is hosting a growing number of major gaming industry events.
In September, Cambodia hosted the Mekong Gaming Summit, which drew several hundred participants.
