The boss of a massage shop in Phnom Penh’s Meanchey district has been charged with offering illegal prostitution services in her shop.

Kong Srey Leak, 32, was arrested after police raided the 66 Massage Shop on Saturday.

“She opened the massage to provide massage services for men,” said Hong Vibol of the police anti human trafficking and juvenile protection unit in Phnom Penh.

“But she allowed the masseuses to have sex with their clients in exchange for getting commission.

“She was arrested while some masseuses were having sex with their clients in the shop rooms,” he said.

The raid took place on Thursday. Police caught five masseuses working as prostitutes and found used and unused condoms in their rooms.

The masseuses told police they had sex with clients for between $10 and $20 a time. They paid commission of 10,000 riel ($2.50) to 20,000 riel per client to the shop boss.

The masseuses were released after getting advice from the police and signing contracts.
