THE annual 2nd Higher Education Fair in Phnom Penh will be a one-stop venue for students hunting for their dream university to pursue a degree or diploma – with FREE entrance to the public when it opens next weekend (Sept 14-15) at Olympia Mall.

Heam Chetra, founder of the Higher Education Fair in Phnom Penh, said about 50 educational institutions will present their academic portfolios at the event with specific information on majors/courses in their scholarship programmes.

“Our vision is to host a one-stop fair for universities, educational institutions, scholarship funds, and young tech/educational start-ups, to present their course studies in one convenient location for students, parents, and high school grads of BACII. Students can weigh the options and decide which university to enroll in to suit their Major and align their degrees to the job market after graduation,” said Ms Chetra.

Ms Chetra said from what she has been observing to date, some students and parents are still ‘fence-sitters’, undecided on the university.

The two-day fair (on mall’s ground floor/ entrance outdoor) will save precious time for students whose urgency for a decision will pick up steam after the high school National Exam results are released on September 10.

Educational experts with be guest speakers at the fair to answer queries regarding what to major in for a career path. The special programme of this fair will present opportunities to win a scholarship, which is every student’s dream.

“Students can seek information about availability of scholarships because many institutions will be offering scholarship to high achievers. What better reason to attend? Many guest speakers will share with students about life on campus in universities. They will guide you on studying schedules, internship, so students can make an informed decision.”

She reiterated the importance of the fair so visitors can view the choices and get guidance on making a Major decision and find a university to match.
