Phnom Penh, 08 August 2019 – DHL Express Cambodia, in cooperation with iPay88 Cambodia Plc, hosted it first-ever e-commerce workshop at Raffles Le Royal Hotel, to engage businesses who wish to retail their products online to international markets.

The 3-hours workshop was successfully conducted in Raffles Le Royal with over 40 attendances of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and online sellers from various industries selling homegrown brands, ranging from agriculture, handicrafts, silk, fashion and apparel, and many other online marketplaces.

The seminar offered insights to traditional business owners and online sellers on the overall e-commerce ecosystem and on practical ways how they can go from local to international markets. The workshop also encouraged businesses to take their products to the next level and open up to global markets. A significant part of building a successful e-commerce business is to find a reliable partner who can offer global network access and innovative local solutions.

“Based on Cambodia’s Trade report in 2018 . We can see that the number of imports are more than exports in Cambodia. Hence, that is indicated that we (Cambodia) are bringing in the raw materials and exporting less out to the global market. Cambodia has high potential for local products to bring to international markets. Moreover, we want to help the sellers to reach their goals by being the fastest and most reliable logistics partner.” – Said Mr. Prayag Chitrakar, Country Manager of DHL Express Cambodia.

He also added that “This is the first-ever e-commerce to be launched by DHL Express Cambodia, and we are hoping to continue to organize more in the upcoming months to continue building awareness of local businesses and foster value-adding discussion”.

“This partnership between iPay88 Cambodia Plc and DHL Express is very important for the development of e-commerce in Cambodia. Payment and logistics are crucial components in the e-commerce business and we are very happy to be able to offer our industry expertise to Cambodian SMEs.” – said Mr. Remi Pell, Managing Director of iPay88 Cambodia Plc.
