Hundreds of Singaporeans gathered to commemorate the country’s bicentennial National Day in a special event organised by Singapore Club Cambodia last night. The event, held at Raffles Hotel Le Royale, saw the guests paying homage to their motherland by singing Singapore’s national anthem, a cake-cutting ceremony, a special ‘yam seng’ session and a video presentation on the country’s journey since gaining independence. Singapore Ambassador to the Kingdom of Cambodia H.E. Michael Tan, in his opening remarks, expressed his gratitude and called upon fellow countrymen to be socially responsible in all commercial undertakings in the Kingdom of Cambodia. Aside from participating in the various games and activities, guests also feasted on Singaporean delights in the likes of nasi goreng, satay, nyonya kueh, rojak and bihun goreng.
