A group of 39 students from Cambodia have returned to the country after spending a week in China competing in the international education programme of Global National History Day.

The objective of the competition is to push students’ interest in the Natural Science and History and to connect students with their peers around the world. Two students were proposed to pair up as a team, whereby each team has to produce a short video presenting the natural and environmental issues.

Chan Thea, a Grade 11 student from American Intercon School who joined the competition, said the four groups of AIS’s students received four medals: two gold medals, a silver medal and a bronze medal from GNHD. The young contestants were from Cambodia, China, South Africa and the United States.

“What I have gained from the competition is the improvement of ability. I also got a chance to benchmark against the competitive partners; and English proficiency level and communication skill improvement,” said Mr Thea.
