Cambodia’s Under-18 national football team chase regional glory at the 2019 AFF U-18 Next Media Cup in neighbouring Vietnam.
The two-week tournament kicks off today with the ASEAN teams using it as preparation ahead of the AFC U-19 Championship 2020 Qualifiers in November.
Cambodia have been drawn in Group B alongside Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Australia and will play their games in Ho Chi Minh city. They play much-fancied Australia in their competition opener tomorrow afternoon.
Myanmar, Indonesia, Laos, Timor-Leste, Philippines and Brunei Darussalam are in Group A, and they play their games in the capital city of Binh Duong province.
Divided into two groups of six teams, the group winners and runners-up will advance to the semi-finals. The final is scheduled to be held on August 19 at the Thong Nhat Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City.
Myanmar will take on Laos in the opening match of the tournament at the Go Dau Stadium.
