Visakha registered their seventh straight win of the Metfone C-League season, a 2-1 win on Saturday over visiting Angkor Tiger at the Visakha Stadium.
Nigerian marksman Ajayi Opeyemi Korede struck either side of half-time to help his side leapfrog Tiger and move into league’s Top 3 behind Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng and NagaWorld.
Despite the departure of much-loved coach Hok Sochivorn, interim coach Akeeb Tunji Ayoyinka has now steered the club to successive league wins over Soltilo Angkor and National Police Commissary, home and away wins over Kirivong Sok Sen Chey, defeat of six-time champs Phnom Penh Crown – and now Angkor Tiger.
Also on Saturday, Boeung Ket were 4-3 victors of Ministry of National Defense at the Cambodia Airways stadium – the result keeping them hot on the heels of both Visakha and Tiger.
Kampong Cham recorded only their second win of the season with a narrow 1-0 win over Bati Academy U18s.
