Sony has announced details of its upcoming Reon Pocket, a pocketable cooling device which functions as a portable air conditioner.

Sony claims that the device, which slots into the back pocket of a specially designed T-shirt , can keep you cool during hot days and also warm you up in colder climes.

Sony says the device is capable of cooling by up to 13 degrees Celsius or heating you up by 8 degrees Celsius and gets you a mere two hours of usage out of a single charge via USB Type-C.

For now, you have to manually control the temperature through a mobile app, but Sony hopes to deliver an automatic mode. The device works using the “Peltier effect” where heat is absorbed or emitted when you pass an electrical current across a junction.

It is expected to ship in March 2020 and is live on Sony’s crowdfunding website, where prices start at around $117.
