Some 200 guests, consisting of hotel partners, travel agents, arts enthusiasts and members of the media, were exclusively invited to a VIP showcase at the National Museum of Cambodia on Friday. Organised by Experience Cambodian Living Arts (ECLA) on Friday, the showcase and networking event was meant to reintroduce guests to the various forms of traditional arts available at the Museum. It was also held to commemorate the recognition of 2019 Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor.

While sipping on themed cocktails such as Mondulkiri Mule and Mekong Julep, guests were treated to a surprise Cambodian shadow puppet show, before the main performance started. The dance performance entitled ‘Earth and Sky’ was directed and choreographed by prima ballerina who made a name for herself back in the 1970s, Voan Savay. Guests were also given the opportunities to try on some of the traditional dance costumes and learn more about Cambodian heritage through the information boards in the museum’s vicinity.

The show combines the classic Apsara, charming folk dances from all around Cambodia and original choreographs. KT/ Pann Rachana
