Prime Minister Hun Sen on Friday told his cabinet members that the withdrawal plan from the European Union on Everything-but Arms is becoming a shadow.

Speaking at the cabinet session, premier Hun Sen said that following his recent trip to attend the meeting in Europe and meet with leaders of the members of EU, the issue of EBA is a shadow and the Kingdom should be more focused on the bilateral trade of the EU members individually.

“Bilateral cooperation of trade between Cambodia and the nations which are members of EU is the foundation and is Cambodia’s commerce target,” he said.

Following the dissolution of the opposition Cambodia National Rescue Party in November 2017, the EU has threatened to withdraw the EBA from the Kingdom, saying it was a step backwards in the democratic process.
