A customs officer at the Phnom Penh International Airport said today that the three Chinese money mules were identified as Huang Canming, 27, Yang Yongwei, 26, and Zizheng Zheng, 32 while Mr Zheng was waiting to pick up both men and the money.

After inspection, police found $900,000 packed in three suitcases without clear sources, the officer said.

“They carried the cash without clear sources and they did not clarify how the money would be used for so the customs officials at the Phnom Penh International Airport decided to make an arrest,” the officer said.

General Keo Vanthan, spokesman for Interior Ministry’s General Immigration Department, could not be reached for comment.
