Some of Cambodia’s top Mixed Martial Arts and Kun Khmer fighters and coaches gathered for a press conference on Sunday hosted by the Cambodian MMA Federation where it recognised a number of the kingdom’s finest martial arts gyms.
Registration certificates to clubs (based in Cambodia) were handed out at the National Olympic Committee of Cambodia (NOCC) headquarters at the weekend to: Cambodian Top Team (CTT), Prodal fight & fitness studio, Monster Factory Cambodia, Selapak, Prokout Fitness and Fight Center, Bokator barayangdeth, Leak Rayong Bokator, Club Eh Phouthong Keila, Ta Dombong Dek, Mr Ly Gym and Boxing, Kingdom Fight Gym, H/Art Academy Jiu Jitsu, Bokator Sor Association, and Siem Reap Grappling Fight Team.
Cambodia’s MMA Federation was rebooted last year with His Excellency Vath Chamroeun as president, Mr. Ke Bin Soreasmey as Vice President and Mr. Hun Chan Reach as its Secretary General.
With Mixed Martial Arts among the leading participation sports in recent years, the kingdom’s sporting authorities are hoping Cambodia can begin to match its potential in international competition. An official Mixed Martial Arts Federation is regarded as integral in making their dreams a reality.
Next up representing Cambodia in the international arena are Eh Yanut and Chan Samart who are both preparing themselves for upcoming fights in WLC – World Lethwei Championship (August 2, Myanmar) and ONE Championship Warrior Series (August 6, Singapore) respectively.
