The South Korean embassy in Phnom Penh has expressed their sadness over the tragic collapse of a seven story building on 22nd June in Preah Sihanouk province.
“The Korean Embassy would like to convey our deepest sympathy and condolences to the victims and those who have lost dear ones,” the embassy said in a Facebook post yesterday evening.
“We sincerely hope that Cambodia will quickly recover from incident under the leadership of Samdech Prime Minister Hun Sen and the Cambodian people will overcome their shock and sadness as soon as possible.” It added.
The seven-story Chinese owned building collapsed early Saturday leaving 28 workers dead and 26 injured. It was the first such incident in Cambodia.
Seven people who were suspected to be involved in the construction, including four Chinese nationals have been sent to jail awaiting further legal procedures.
