Korean companies’ co-existence with Cambodia

KOTRA (Korea Trade investment Promotion Agency), a commercial section of Korean Embassy is a business plat-form between Cambodia and Korea. KOTRA’s CSR program plays a role as an overseas center for CSR activities of Korean companies. By supporting CSR projects of each enterprise with the local government or organization, KOTRA helps establishing cooperative partnership, taking part in solving the social problems and promoting the investment to the partner country. KOTRA’s CSR activity ranges from product or service donation and knowledge transfer to creating shared value. In collaboration with Gyeonggi province’s ODA and GOOD PEOPLE(INGO), KOTRA took part in assisting the donation of hundreds of solar home systems of Dawon electronics and held technical training to the beneficiaries in Siemreap, Preah vihear, and Kampong speu since 2016 to help people with no electricity sustainably.

COVISION, a Korean company in dental technology held a technical training on CAD/CAM for 45 Cambodian dentists and dental technicians along with their product donation in Phnompenh. Another Korean company in education technology (MARVRUS) provided VR/AR Education experience and training on how to utilize it in education for 200 teachers and students at Siemreap Teacher Training Center.

In 2019, KOTRA would keep conducting CSR activities by collaborating with several companies, organizations and local government. Furthermore, KOTRA wishes to help local economy by creating shared value through developing sustainable business model that relates to Korean companies’ businesses in Cambodia.
