Indonesia’s Low Cost Carrier (LCC) Citilink Indonesia will have its first flight from Jakarta to Phnom Penh on 21 June 2019. The inaugural ceremony will be held in Phnom Penh International Airport and attended by officials and representatives from Ministry of Tourism, SSCA, Airport Authorities, Citilink, Travel Asscoiations and media. Citilink is expected to land in Phom Penh airport around 14.00 and will be welcomed by a water salute.
The launch of Citilink direct flight to Phnom Penh is part of the commemoration of the 60th year’s anniversary of the diplomatic relation between Indonesia and Cambodia this year. Citilink will operate the route three times a week with an Airbus A320 aircraft that can carried up to 180 passengers. Both countries believe that the direct flight will be one of the most crucial stepping stone in enhancing and sthrengthening the bilateral relation of Indonesia – Cambodia. It is also expected that this direct flight can go beyond just connecting the two countries, but also to gain more partnership potentials in many sectors.
This new Citilink route connects two great hubs, acknowledging the importance in our relationship of the people-to-people ties, increasing the trade volume, as well in closer effort to reconnecting two well-known UNESCO heritage the Candi Borobudur and Angkro Wat, where our past and culture is a secret ingredient of the strong and enduring Indonesia Cambodia relationship.
Citilink as a low-cost brand of Garuda Indonesia operate shuttle services between Indonesia cities, and as of today serves 5 international destinations such as China, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Timor Leste and Cambodia. And this new Jakarta-Phnom Penh route connects Cambodia’s capital to the capital of Indonesia and ASEAN.
